The Yellowstone River
MONTANA’S LONGEST FREE FLOWING RIVER
Considered the principal tributary of the upper Missouri, the Yellowstone River and its tributaries drain a wide area stretching from the Rocky Mountains near Yellowstone National Park to the high plains of southern Montana. It is the longest undammed river in the lower 48 states, and is over 200 feet wide in most parts. It courses through spectacular scenery flanked on each side by small cliffs and hills that give rise to the Absaroka and Crazy Mountain ranges. Guests wishing to float the Yellowstone will travel with their guide to Livingston, MT (approx. 1 hour from our Lodge). The Yellowstone offers the perfect combination of breathtaking scenery, large wild trout, and high catch rates. Full-day trips are available upon request and dependent on guide availability.
