Born and raised on Bar Z Riverside Ranch, Dave Hanson has been fishing the streams and rivers around White Sulphur Springs and Bozeman since he was old enough to tie a fly. His father started guiding fishermen over 20 years ago. Dave began assisting with the fishing operation during summers through high school. His friendly demeanor and laid-back temperament make him a pleasure to interact with. When not guiding fishermen, Dave heads south to Willow Creek, MT where he helps to manage the Cooper Hereford Ranch.

Jared joined the guide staff in 2007. A native of the Gallatin Valley, Jared has fished the Madison, Gallatin, and Yellowstone rivers extensively. Mike Patron Profile

Mike Patron, born and raised in New Orleans, LA, will forever be true to his roots with a pure and genuine love of fishing, food, and music! In 1993 Mike took a leap of faith and moved out West to Wyoming to pursue his passion of fishing and the outdoors. In 2009, he moved to Bozeman MT, to explore new waters and opportunities, which ultimately lead him to the Bar Z Ranch.   During the off season, Mike loves to salt water fish anywhere new; duck hunt and explore life through the lens of his camera with his Yellow Lab Rigby.

John Lowell
Professional Guide/Musician

John Lowell grew up with a fly rod in his hand, fishing the streams and rivers of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Alaska with his father. The two of them spent countless hours hiking into back country lakes and streams in search of remote, unfished water. Now a resident of the metropolis of Manhattan, Montana (population 1,500), John finds himself fishing the Yellowstone, Madison, Smith & Big Hole Rivers. When John is not fishing, he can be found roaming the hills hunting elk and deer, or traveling to points unknown to indulge in one of his other passions – playing acoustic music.
